The Dutch betting company and the governing body have agreed to work together for three years. The FIH Hockey Women's World Cup is coming up, and the FIH Hockey Pro League seasons in the Netherlands will run from now until June 2025.
The FIH said in a statement, "BetCity.nl has a lot of comfort with its products and its market because it is a well-known, experienced, and 100% Dutch supplier."
"This fits with the trust that its players have, having said that they love casino games as much as they love hockey and good sportsmanship in general."
At the end of this month, the FIH Hockey Pro League games in Nijmegen will be the first time that BetCity.nl can be seen.
"The Netherlands have been one of the best hockey teams in the world for years," said Melvin Bostelaar, CEO of BetCity.nl. As a Dutch company, we're happy to be connected with the FIH and be able to be seen at our national team's Pro League and Women's Hockey World Cup games!
Sportradar, which is the FIH's official betting and gaming data rights partner, helped the two groups work together.
"We've been thinking about working with the betting industry for a while now, but we had to make sure we could do so in a completely safe space," said Thierry Weil, CEO of the FIH.
"BetCity.nl is the perfect partner for us to bring hockey betting to the market, thanks to our work together with Sportradar." This is the first time we've done something like this, and we hope that it will lead to more chances like this in the future.

To have fun and be safe while gambling, it is important to gamble properly. Never risk more than you can afford to lose; instead, plan ahead and play within your means. To keep your head on straight and not chase your losses, take frequent breaks. Get a feel for the odds and remember that gambling is more of a pastime than a means to an end. Never gamble when under the influence of alcohol or stress, and be sure to keep track of your spending and time. Seek assistance from support groups or think about self-exclusion measures if gambling becomes harmful or stops being enjoyable.
